dc.description.abstract대기 중의 셀레늄은 대부분의 미량금속원소들이 자연적으로 주로 지각 먼지에서 기원하는 것과는 달리 자연적으로 배출되는 양의 60-80%가 해양 생태계의 생물활동으로부터 기원하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 반면, 인간 활동에 의해 배출되는 양의 90%는 석탄 등의 화석연료 연소 과정에서 배출되는 것으로 보고되었다. 지난 20세기 동안 전 지구적인 대기 환경은 지구 온난화, 산업화 등 자연적, 인위적인 환경 변화에 의한 영향이 두드러지게 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 환경변화가 대기 중 셀레늄에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 2009년 그린란드 북부 NEEM 빙하시추 캠프에서 시추한 천부빙하코어 (2009S1, 136 m)의 상부 17~55 m 구간에서 셀레늄 (Se)을 분석하여 1900년 초부터 1970년대 후반까지 그린란드로 유입되는 대기 중 셀레늄의 변화 기록을 복원하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 1900년 초부터 1940년대까지 셀레늄의 농도가 증가하다가 1940년대 이후 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 크롬 (Cr), 몰리브덴 (Mo), 주석 (Sn) 등 화석연료 연소 과정에서 배출되는 것으로 알려진 원소들의 농도가 1900년대 초 급격하게 증가한 후 20세기 전반에 걸쳐 지속적으로 증가 추세를 보이는 것과는 대조를 보이고 있다. 반면, 그린란드 빙하코어의 MSA와 유사한 변화양상을 보이고 있어, 20세기 중반까지 그린란드로 유입되는 대기 중 셀레늄이 주로 해양 생물에서 기원하였음을 시사하고 있다.-
