Abstract
남극연안해양에서는지체구조적지각활동과더불어기온및바람의변화에의해변동하는빙권발생신호(Thermalandwind-drivencryogenicsignals),해양포유류그리고원거리에서전달되는장주기중력파(Infragravitywave)등매우다양한신호로가득한시끌벅적한소리의풍경(Soundscape)이특징적이다.극지연구소에서는남극장보고기지주변로스해일대에이와같은신호를포착,분석하여극지환경을이해하고자광대역해저면지진계(BroadbandOcean-BottomSeismograph;OBS)를설치,운용하고있다.독일의K.U.M.Umwelt-undMeerestechnikKielGmbH사에서개발한심해용신형해저면지진계인Nammusystem3기를쇄빙연구선아라온을활용하여2017/2018남극하계탐사활동기간에설치하였으며,1년후인2018/2019탐사시전수회수에성공하였다.이해저면지진계는해저면의움직임을정밀하게관측하기위한나노메트릭스사의“TrilliumCompact120s”광대역지진계와수중음파및해저면에서의압력변화를관측할수있는“HTI-04-PCA/ULF”센서가부착되어있으며,동사에서개발한저전력기록계인6D6로구성되어있다.관측기간은2018년3월부터2019년1월까지이며,지진및수중음향기록에관한샘플링주파수는250Hz이다.이발표에서는해빙으로가득찬극지역에서해저면지진계의설치및운용에관한기술적정보를제공하고기록된신호의간단한특성과연구활용예시를소개하고자한다.
